[Nagnagnag] Kirk solo

Jon, my bad... I guess I thought that you were strictly refering to just Kirk's solo releases under his own name, not including all his myriad of monikers or I would have most definitely included a bunch of those trax as well.

Or were you in fact just refering to his releases under his own name?
Because if you were, personally I think there is WAY too much stuff and of a vastly different variety to condense it all down to just one 60 min comp.
If that is in fact the case, I would think a 2xCD would be able to do it more justice... at least a bit better.

Because to me, since he has about 75 or various releases with all his different alias', asking to boil Kirk down to just 60 minutes is tantamount to saying "Make a COIL compilation for a friend who has never heard them (including Time Machines, BLD, ELpH, The Eskaton, Rosa Mundi, etc) that is 60 min in length.
It just cannot be done.
Again a 2xCD could maybe do it.

Grant

For purely some older solo Kirk material.. I would choose to use in no particular order:

Never lose Your Shadow
So Digital
Synesthesia
Street Gang (it really hurts)
Indole Ring
Martyrs of Palestine 12" Mix
Latin/MYBM
Wire Trap
Public Fun
The Greedy Eye
One Three Fourgasm
Leather Hands
Hypnotic

Though that is probably way over sixty min. Lol..

But actually I think a really good place to start, especially for a friend who has never hear Kirk would be his 2xCD album, Earlier/Later.

As that album has got all kinda different tracks from 1974-1989.
And if it can only be 60 minutes long. . then just pick half of the tracks (your own favorites obviously) from the first disc and half from the second.
As I actually played that for a friend who had never even heard Cabs and he really loved it... especially the variety of it.
Though Never Lose Your Shadow would definitely HAVE to be on there somewhere as that is a truly amazing track.

Grant

i've been re-listening to some older RHK solo works lately and i just
wanted to open up a discussion to the crowd here...

if you were to make a 60 minute compilation of RHK solo tracks for a
friend who has never heard RHK solo, what songs would you use?
