[Grief] Pastimes

Good point Jon.
COIL was still definitely called COIL when Geff was absent from those 3 gigs in 2003.
And Pink Floyd. And was the Ramones no longer the Ramones when Dee Dee left?
So I Agree.. TG is still TG just because Gen is not on an album or not at a gig.
The other three members chose to call themselves XTG when Gen bailed on them in the middle of the tour.
I Believe that name change was mainly for legal reasons.. Though I could be wrong.
But had Christopherson, Carter and Tutti decided to still call themselves TG for the last two shows, rather than X-TG, they would have still been TG in my book.

Was it Coil when Geff wasn't on it? There were a couple gigs and a number
of recordings without his presence.... Was it Pink Floyd without Syd
Barrett? or even Roger Waters? Two of their lyricists/front men were
removed from the band! Didn't Journey Through a Body, CD1, and In the
Shadow of the Sun have no Genesis presence?

It just is, right?

What labels it has less to do with how you regard it (enjoy it or not) -
categorizing and labeling things is what we do as humans. However, there's
no arguing with taste.

Are people cashing in? Maybe. Do they have a right to? Maybe. It's up to
you if you want to line their pockets now or wait until everything's out of
print and line the pockets of the greedy resellers who had zero creative
input.

Or save your money and line the pockets of Apple Computer - I hear there's
a new iPhone coming out.

It just isn't.
