As a IXth in OTO, I am somewhat limited by oaths in the detail of what 
I can say.

In general, the IXth degree is more heterosexual and the XIth is more
homosexual in nature.  However, the primary matter of these degrees is 
not that simple.  It's best to think of homo/hetero as a superficial level 
of thinking, akin to an association with the degrees in question, not the 
essential formulas so much.

The XIth is more adaptable than the IXth; but it's formula is very different,
not just an adaptation of sexual orientation at essentially the same sort of
thing.  The XIth is much more difficult than the IXth, as well.  Much of the 
O.T.O. general sequence of initiations is intended to culminate in 
preparation for the IXth, but the IXth itself only partially prepares for 
the XIth.

For information about IXth degree, see Crowley's Gnostic Mass (Liber XV),
Grimorum Santissimum, Formula of Thelema and Formula of Agape (to an
extent) and Star Saphire.  The V.I.T.R.I.O.L. formula will provide some
insights into the XIth degree, while Liber Reguli will help with overview

Liber Aleph contains a number of [passages] regarding mainly the IXth
Degree High Mass (not the Gnostic Mass).
