I thought the newsgroup was for and about people interested in Taoism. Unfortunately it appears to be about Tao Te Chingism. What is that? Tao Te Chingism - a "pop" culture of indivduals who read the Tao Te Ching, take thier best guess at what it says and talk about it over and over and over again! VS Taoism - a consolidation of a number of concepts and practices. This consolidation of ideas and practices include the CORE components of at least the following: "theories regarding the body and diet (jing), phyical and mental energy (qi), martial arts as a means of discipline. Also herbology, meditation and philosophical inquiry (shen). Broken into 2 major categories (philosophical and religious) there are many sects of each branch but all contain at least the "core" components.
