Well, here's hoping we can get started on this thread! Tantra is more than the yoga of sex. Calling it such would be like calling Wicca the Craft of the Great Rite. Tantra is a mystical tradition which studies all life and existence. This includes sexuality. It has a set of deities (primarily Shiva and Shakti, but others such as Kali may be venerated). It has traditions of magick based on symbols (especial those figures which are deity in 2-d form known as Yantras) and sounds (known as mantras) as well as herbs and stones. It has predictive methods (Jyotish) which includes astrology and palmistry. Meditation is very important in Tantra, as is learning to move the psychosexual energy commonly known as kundalini, although the understanding tends to be deeper than that which is usually seen in new age books. Also important in some tradition is what is called Svecchacarya, the path of doing one's Will. Sexuality is a part of the lives of all humans. As such, it (along with numerous other things) is worthy of study and practice. It was only the repressed Xtians who looked at Tantra and only saw it as the yoga of sex.
