re the use of blood in ritual, when, why and how, from where the blood is
derived, diff between human/animal/male/female/veins/arteries/menstruum:

I have used blood in my religious and magical practices many times.  this
blood was not usually mine, being more often menstrual blood from my lover.
for magical purposes I used my own blood to seal a pact.  for religious
purposes (which were not always separate from the magical) I used blood
of lovers as offerings to Kali on my altar to Her (She is my dedicatory
deity), to wash Her statue (along with my own urine), and have always
felt that the consumption of monthly blood during sex (whether this be
formed or viewed as a 'magical act' or no) was an extremely powerful
experience.

as regards animal/veins/arteries I cannot comment, as I have little or
no experience with them.
