	nocTifer makes some interesting points here. Although I am not in
accord with the whole concept of the Abyss, at least as it is portrayed
in the Hermetic literature, I want to point out that alot of what is
being discussed here, specifically the assimilation (NOT rejection) of
the Shadow or Nemesis is something which must occur - in traditional
Qabalistic work - at the level of the lowest triad (Netzach-Hod-Yesod).
This is the level of the "TZevaot" or "Hosts" ("Sabaoth") of a mass
plurality of influences which are tied to physical desires and passions,
"current-life karma" (for lack of a better phrase, and various other
forms of accidental & incidental conditioning.
	If one uses the path system based on the older (pre-Lurianic) Jewish
tradition, which I posted last Thursday in the message entitled
"Substance", it is easy to see that these Hosts fall into two basic
"legions", as it were. These are represented by the paths of Samech &
Ayin - Temperence ("The Angel") & The Devil - as the influnces of
Netzach & Hod (the 2 spheres attributed with the Name "TZevaot") on
Yesod, the sphere of the Astral Fluid, as described by Alphonse Louis
Constant. These influences exist "below" & within the horizontal path of
Mem; the personality/individual consciousness immersed in & dependent
upon material conditions and conditioning.
	It is here that the Shadow/Nemesis exists in full force as an
"Opposing" influence to Ascent on the Tree. It is here that it must be
confronted and assimilated AS A FRIEND & ALLY.

	This Work must be done well before the "entry" into Tiferet; we are
nowhere near "Daath" yet. As such, "Daath" is the reward for the Work
yet to be done in Tiferet; this "Shadow" work is the Work of Yesod. I
speak here in terms of the Triads, not individual spheres. The Ascent I
speak of is all on the Middle Pillar. Once "out" of Malchut, onmust
reconcile the dualized Hosts in Yesod before moving on to Tiferet, where
a similar reconciliation must take place, but between forces which are
much more essential to the spiritual nature of human consciousness.
Beyond THIS is "Daath", which is actually the End, Goal, and Reward of
the Lower Seven Gates, not a trial in it's own right.
