A symmetrical Tree was proposed by the profound qabalistic thinker, Issac Luria, in the 15th-16th century. Note that the attribution of the Letters to the Paths are also very different under that pattern. This conception of the Tree is presented with exquisite commentary in Aryeh Kaplan's edition of the Sepher Yetzirah (from Weiser). Regards, Paul
