Home-grown tobacco is sweet, almost like sweetgrass, but richer, and smoother. It does not burn my lungs, throat, or eyes, when burned dry. You can also get fairly good tobacco without a lot of junk in it in some brands sold in malaysia, java, etc. Don't know how to get it in this country, though. For that matter, coffee from malaysia is pure heaven, and something worth conjuring with. I like doing a four-directions offering with smoke. I think tobacco has an important place in my world for that purpose. I have had powerful experiences after doing some rituals where I "shared breath" with the four directions, using tobacco. While American Spirit is a quality product, as far as it is possible to describe cigarettes as having "quality", I doubt that you could describe any nicotine- bearing smoking material as addictive-free. The highest quality tobacco can be found in rather expensive cigars. Cigarettes are made with what is left over from the cigar and pipe tobacco industries.
