A sufficiently high dose of LSD, under the proper set and setting, can temporarily dissolve ego boundaries, but you are correct in saying that the ego is not "destroyed". When you come down, your ego boundaries are re-established. During the next few days, again depending on set and setting, those boundaries are malleable, to some degree. Herein lies the potential value of LSD for promoting psychological changes. To get benefits from LSD with any reliability at all, it is necessary to understand this. >I've found LSD useful in evocative and visual magick, ill advised in any >sort of magickal battle (it can become so "reflective" of the self that >one may miss critical points of an adversary), and pretty much neutral in >divination (other than divination about the diviner). I have found that the use of LSD is not compatible with most situations involving the production of adrenalin. Situations in which one feels threatened tend to result in greater disorientation, which compounds the problem. I *have* found that LSD can provide a means to gain the insight that battle is not the only or best option in dealing with someone you have defined as an "adversary".
