One way around the quandry was to assume the "title" of CHAOTE as a general term of description, and reserve the designation of "Chaos Magician" as a temporary mantle ONLY when actually performing a magickal work; in effect, when one banishes with laughter at the end of a working, one banishes the persona of "magician" as well. We thought this was in keeping with the general idea of magick being a VERB, not a noun - it is someting you DO, not something you ARE. All manifestation arises from the Primal Chaos for a limited time and is gone. A "proper" Chaote (one who embraces Chaos as a guide to existance) should adopt a similar attitude to the working of magick. I have no problem with taking on manifestation on a temporary basis, for what is all of existence but this? It is important to remember to include the fourth dimension, time, in this process - it aligns oneself with the Primal Chaos more completely and efficiently. Thus the quandry is solved, at least to MY satisfaction . Otherwise, to embrace the "there is no such thing" idea completely, the only possible congruent action is NO action, and even THAT is an action! We are trapped on the plane of duality - quit bitching about it! Or go join the Buddhists and contemplate the Nothingness until you get a nice big ball of navel-lint...
